The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati) on a rotational basis. It is the gateway to admission in the 23 IITs across India for B.Tech, B.S., B.Pharm, and dual-degree programmes.
JEE Advanced is widely regarded as the toughest undergraduate engineering entrance in the world. Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, of whom approximately 2 lakh actually appear for ~17,400 IIT seats.

Exam Pattern

Question types: Single Correct MCQ, Multiple Correct MCQ (MSQ — partial marks scheme), Numerical Answer Type, Match the Following, Paragraph-based. Candidates who clear JEE Advanced and want to apply for B.Arch at IIT Roorkee or IIT Kharagpur must additionally clear AAT. AAT tests: Freehand Drawing, Geometrical Drawing, 3D Perception, Imagination & Aesthetic Sensitivity, Architectural Awareness. AAT is qualifying — only marks of JEE Advanced are used for ranking.

1. JEE Advanced Tests Concept Linking, Not Memorisation
Unlike JEE Main (formula-application heavy), JEE Advanced asks multi-concept linking questions. A single Physics question may combine Mechanics + Thermodynamics + Calculus. Build problem-solving by attempting harder textbooks: Irodov + HC Verma + DC Pandey for Physics; Cengage / TMH / Arihant for Maths; OP Tandon (Phy) + JD Lee (Inorg) + MS Chouhan (Org) for Chemistry.
2. Solve Last 25 Years' JEE Advanced + IIT-JEE PYQs

3. Work in Subject Cycles, Not Daily Mixed Practice
