    CPCT Hindi Typing Test — Layout & Font

    CPCT Hindi typing uses the Mangal Unicode font with InScript keyboard layout. This is critical to know because:

    • The Kruti Dev / Remington layout is not used in CPCT — that is RPSC/RSMSSB territory.
    • InScript is phonetic — keys are mapped to Hindi sounds, so क is on the "k" position, ख on the next, and so on.
    • If you have practised on Kruti Dev, expect 4–6 weeks of re-training to hit 30 WPM on InScript.

    CPCT Typing Test Pattern

    • Duration: 15 minutes per language
    • Passage: Formal text (around 350–400 words in English; 250–300 in Hindi)
    • Backspace: Allowed, but errors reduce your accuracy score
    • Scoring: Net WPM = (Gross WPM) × (Accuracy %). You must clear 40 WPM English / 30 WPM Hindi after accuracy adjustment.

    Why 85% Accuracy Matters

    CPCT's accuracy rule is stricter than SSC. At 85% accuracy, every 15 mistakes per 100 words knocks you out — even if your gross speed is 50 WPM. A safer target: aim for 45 WPM gross in English / 35 WPM gross in Hindi with 90%+ accuracy. That gives you a buffer.
